First things first, Happy New Year! If you’re reading this, you made it through 2020, a year we’ve never seen the likes of before. 2021 by Astrology.TV

It’s been quite literally a world-changing year, and we all can breathe a sigh of relief as 2021 dawns.

Even without the influence of the planets, 2021 is set to be a reset.

Everything we’ve come to expect from the passing of years has been turned on its head by the pandemic.

When we think about the “new normal”, we need to decide what that looks like. Above our heads, the planets speak of a conflict between looking forward and holding onto what we have.

The first major event which reminds us just how unusual these times are is a rare Saturn-Uranus square.

Due to become exact three times in February, June, and December, the last time we experienced this aspect was in May 2000 when Saturn was in Taurus and Uranus in Aquarius - a sign switch from now as Saturn is currently in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus.

Saturn in Aquarius beckons us away the status-quo. By contrast, Uranus in Taurus is conflicted about a system upheaval and a new way of living.

What happens in February, June and December will reverberate for the future.

From May to July, Jupiter will transit through Pisces and then retrograde into Aquarius.

Jupiter in Pisces is introspective and intuitive, a time for personal healing. Jupiter in Aquarius is all about working together to be the change we want to see in the world.

For us to make the changes we need to move forward into the future, we must harness this balance of energies as perfectly exemplified by Jupiter’s transition from sign to sign.

There are four eclipses in 2021. A Lunar Eclipse in May, Solar Eclipse in June, and two further Eclipses in November and December.

As always, an Eclipse forces us to look inside ourselves and see how we are growing and learning.

It also gives us a chance to work on some unresolved issues both inside ourselves and within the wider world.

Much of the focus of the Eclipse energy will be on truth and justice. Themes like freedom of information and fake news or overly-controlled media will rise to the forefront.

The final major event of the year is Jupiter moving back into Pisces, which occurs during the final week of 2021.

Here, at last, we will see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel a real sense of camaraderie with our fellow humans.

Moving out of Aries and into Taurus, on Wednesday, January 6, Mars continues to impact our inner strength and ambition.

Mars in Taurus is a powerful combination, calming the warmonger Mars down and slowing down our physical drive.

Rather than rushing into tasks and trying to get them done as quickly as possible, our focus is on quality over quantity. We want to be successful in our endeavors and complete them calmly and practically.

Our plans take the form of easy to digest, step-by-step actions. In this way, we can achieve things that we might not otherwise.

Even though we’re convinced we’re doing things right, sometimes it helps to have outside input.

Unfortunately, Mars in Taurus is prone to stubbornness, refusing to back down even when we’re clearly being unreasonable.

☿️☿️☿️ Mercury In Aquarius ♒♒♒ - Intellectual Prowess

From Friday, January 8 to Monday, March 15, we are at the peak of our mental capabilities with Mercury’s move into Aquarius.

Mercury in Aquarius means we are rational, logical, innovative thinkers. The sign of Aquarius appeals to our intellectual side, encouraging us to question everything.

Forward-thinking is an understatement. We are so far outside the box with our thinking, we can’t even see the box anymore!

While these ideas are sometimes hard to communicate with others, we are happy to occupy ourselves with dreams of the future. After all, we’re on an intellectual plane of our own!

We need to take care that this energy doesn't lead to isolation and general aloofness especially when Mercury will be retrograde from January 30th until February 20th. To avoid conflict as a result of this, the best thing we can do is try our best to keep our cool and communicate openly and clearly.

We are also resistant to authority at this time and don’t like to be told what to do.

While it may be tricky sometimes, we must consider how those around us feel and try to stay empathetic.

With a little consideration and respect, we can make the most of this time intellectually without alienating those around us.
